We were a little delayed leaving Christchurch as we had to stop and get a pole replaced on our little awning. The previous users had snapped one in half and not told the company.
So, about twelve we head off for the Lake. It's a fair drive and we stop at Ashburton for lunch, and a place named Burke's Pass for coffee. The latter has several old West style buildings. This is Monday second March.
When we arrive at the lake we have a look at the Church of the Good Shepherd, and the monument to the sheepdog before we find the lakeside camp and pitch up overlooking the lake.
