Leaving Invercargill we headed for Te Anau but we stopped at Riverton for lunch. I had a really good seafood chowder and K had a great cottage pie - had to be careful of the tooth.
We also passed the Clifden Suspension Bridge - which is pretty close, in spelling anyway, of the bridge in my home town.
Arriving at Te Anau we chose the Lakeside Holiday Park - just across the road from the lake - really!
Being unable to really decide how to get to Milford Sound, we opted for a coach and cruise package which included lunch.
We were there for two nights. It was a big place but very clean and we didn't feel crowded. We took some drinks down to the lakeside and watched the sun go down.
